About Dr. Binder

Dr. Anna Binder is a board certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), fully trained in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University.

Her approach centers on a thoughtful, comprehensive assessment, working with each patient to weigh the role medication can play in supporting meaningful change, with the goal of helping patients perform at their personal and professional best.

Dr. Binder has particular expertise working with individuals who have co-occurring medical illness and need medication support as part of their care. She also works with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship and career challenges. Her style is professional, empathic, and approachable, with psychoeducation at the core of her practice.

How Dr. Binder approaches treatment

Dr. Binder collaborates regularly with each patient's therapist or primary care provider to plan the most effective course of treatment. Not everyone needs medication - she works to streamline or reduce medications when possible, while developing safe, effective regimens when medication is truly needed, with the goal of optimizing each patient's overall health.
